Gekko smithii (Smith's green-eyed gecko):
This species is also known as the large forest gecko and is native to Southeast Asia. They are known for their impressive size, reaching up to 14 inches in length, and their striking green eyes according to reptile pet keeping sites. 
Gekko gecko (Tokay gecko):
This is the more well-known species, the largest of the geckos. They are typically blue-gray with orange and blue spots and have a more robust build than Gekko smithii. 
Similarities:
Both species are arboreal, found in similar regions of Southeast Asia, and are known for their loud vocalizations, with the Tokay's call being particularly well-known. They also share some similarities in their care requirements. 
Key Differences:
Gekko smithii has a more slender build, with a distinct green eye color and a brownish coloration, while Gekko gecko is bulkier, with a blue-gray base color and vibrant spots.
